I own a mid-2017 AVA Direct gaming desktop PC and a Hisense 40H4 40" Roku HDTV. I can provide technical information about my installed PC hardware components upon request if someone needs to know, but suffice it to say it is fairly high-end and modern. My desktop operating system is Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version 1903. My Hisense 40H4 Roku HDTV is using software version 9.1.0 build 4121-11. I can easily connect a HDMI 2.0b cable from my gaming desktop PC to my HDTV in the near future.

I am a beginner when it comes to TV tuners and antennas, but I cancelled Verizon FiOS cable television and landline telephone services years ago; I pay for Verizon FiOS Internet at 75/75 MB/s symmetrical speed monthly and I am under a two year contract. I live in Nutley, New Jersey in the United States of America. I need to ask several questions before purchasing a TV tuner and antenna that is compatible with both JRiver Media Center 25.0.89 64 bit Master License and Plex Media Server and Player.

I am interested in this product because it uses a simple USB 2.0 port to plug in and it is compatible with Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit Home or Pro editions along with Plex Media Server. Is this compatible with JRiver Media Center 25.0.89 64 bit Master License? What do I need to know to get it to work?

This seems to be the best indoor digital HDTV antenna currently on the market. It seems like a decent product.

I am not sure if I need this active USB 2.0 extension cable, but it seems like a good idea because my mid-2017 AVA Direct gaming desktop PC sits on a laminated wood floor between my wooden desk and my dresser. My Hisense Roku HDTV sits on top of my dresser. It is kind of difficult for me to reach to the back of my gaming desktop PC to plug in and unplug devices. Is this recommended for me based on what I describe?

You might take a look at the Silicondust products.  They make very good network tuners.

Hauppauge is also good.  I don't think the USB 2.0 port is meant for a direct connection.

Thank you for your quick reply. The Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD product is meant for direct USB 2.0 plug-in to a compatible Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit Home or Pro edition PC. I checked with the official Hauppague website about this product. It is fairly unique in terms of its capabilities and features set and it is mobile and portable since it comes with a remote control and a portable TV antenna. I may go ahead and download the device drivers and software provided by Hauppauge just in case and back it up in my Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit software library tonight. My Amazon package is coming on Tuesday. I continue watching this sub-forum and the official JRiver Wikis to learn more about installation and setup, but I expect it to be fairly straightforward. If I run into a technical issue, then I will contact members here for Media Center support and Hauppauge as well. No worries as I did my research carefully. It should just work right out of the box. That's the beauty of Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit Pro edition.

I received my Amazon package earlier this evening. My Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD, 1byone amplified digital antenna and Amazon Basics USB 2.0 extension cable just work.

I had to install the Hauppauge WinTV v8.5 64 bit and to activate it on my three PCs. I used my 1byone amplified digital antenna to connect to my Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD and extension cable on my mid-2017 AVA Direct gaming desktop PC.

JRiver Media Center 25.0.89 64 bit setup was a breeze and I pulled in 68 free over the air TV stations. Watching TV is seamless just like watching it on a smart HDTV.

I set it up on my two laptops using the included portable antenna and extension cable and it just worked, but it pulled in fewer TV stations.

JRiver Media Center 25 64 bit Master License is my go to software product that handles almost all of my media content and it is so feature rich with enormous capabilities. I am a happy guy. I can watch TV for free for the rest of my life on my PCs at home or when I travel to local coffee shops or the library.
