Library gets fully re-scanned
« on: June 28, 2019, 03:44:48 am »

Hi, after jumping on some version of the 25.0.6x built my MC seems to re-scan the whole library. I guess it may be related to the HDCD bug detected in one of the builds.

Anyway, is that normal and expected? With a huge files library it's not really something I'd like to happen, as it hampers my daily work (the CPU usage is constantly over 90% and MC is the culprit).

Oh, I've seen the topic but after skimming the contents, it looked to me more like how to get HDCD done rather than how to avoid it! ;)

So all I need to do is to disable this?

Well, yes. Basically this: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,121124.msg837911.html#msg837911

Plus this (for auto-import analyzing existing files): https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,121124.msg838076.html#msg838076

That should fully disable the HDCD stuff (the tag writing disable part is the most important, IMO). After setting everything up, you could do a select all (CTRL+A) on the entire library and right click and find Tag, then in the tagging window find the HDCD field, right click on it and select Empty to remove those HDCD tags.
