MC now makes "key press" noises when I press a key
« on: July 21, 2019, 09:45:26 pm »

When I fired up the MC25 client this evening, a new version was downloaded and installed.

Now whenever I make a selection, there is a "key press" sound through the speakers.

Previously, MC had been quiet.  Nicely quiet.  Oh, so wonderfully, nicely quiet.

I looked in Options>General but saw no way to silence this.

Google and the search facility within Options also were of no help.

I suspect there's something I need to toggle, I just cannot find out where/what it is.

Help.  Can someone give me a pointer where I should look?

thx.

Really going off of my poor memory but look in the theater view options somewhere towards the bottom.  I know you can turn it off somewhere

Really going off of my poor memory ...

Actually, it is your excellent memory.   :)

Right after I posted that, I remembered/realized that I was using Theater View, so I looked in the Theater View area of Options, and Voila, there it was, "Play Sounds."

Unchecking that box gave me silence with menu navigation once again.

I was coming back here to post my findings when I saw your comment.

Many thanks for suggesting the correct solution.

... and maybe you should trust your memory a bit more in the future, you were spot on.   ;)

Thanks again!
