Playing back VCD
« on: May 11, 2003, 11:10:05 am »

Hi,

I would like to say that MC is indeed one the best all in one  jukebox that I have used. But there is one small thing though that I notice. I can't seem to get MC to play any VCD file. Usually those file are named .dat and MC just refuse to play them even if I right click those file and open them with MC. I am hoping that since MC can play DVD, it can also play VCD.

As I got a couple of VCDs that I would very much like to watch using MC, I hope there's a solution for this.

I don't think MC9 can play back VCDs.  This is just a guess on my part, as I'm too lazy to really check.  In case it does work out that way, here is a free, easy-to-use, lightweight VCD player:

You might be able to drag the dat file onto the player window (lower left corner of MC).

We will take a look at better support of VCD's soon.  We disabled the dat file type because there were too many accounting files ending up as MC files.
