Unable to Restore Playlist
« on: August 18, 2019, 07:19:27 pm »

Media Center 24.0.78 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Build 1903

Oddly, I'm not getting any playlists when restoring a library despite doing what wiki shows https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Library_Backup And yes, the checkboxes are checked for both Playlist and Settings.

I had to do an OS reinstall and in trying to get Media Center up to where I had it when restoring a library I get no playlists.

Am I missing something? Is there a different way?

Thanks.

So no one has any ideas? Or is it just that I'm still using a version no longer supported?

You might try the latest MC25 as a test.

Playlists are part of a library backup and should come along no problem.

They're in this file:
playlistx.jmd

You could also try an earlier backup from MC24.

At this point in time I see no reason move to 25 when 24 does what I need. Yeah, I have this issue, but basic music playing 24 works just fine. Thanks.

But... that's what I've been... doing. Even going all the way back to June backups. There's simply no playlist being restored. It's why I'm asking for help now. BTW these are custom created playlists, if that helps.

Quick Questions - is there a way to doublecheck which library is being used? Also what's the typical file size for that playlistx.jmd?

Thanks for the help fellows. Anyway I figured it out and got my playlists back. Found the answer elsewhere.

Out.

It would be good if you could share the answer, so that other people will find it in the future.

For example, was it the drive letter of the disk the media is stored on has changed after the reinstall? That would result in Playlists being restored, but being empty though.
