Extra Long File Path handling broken?
« on: August 21, 2019, 09:43:55 am »

I am ripping two large Ernest Ansermet Boxes (>30CDs) that sit in a directory structure that is three levels deep (The Artist, the name of the box, the name of the cd). dbPoweramp populates the track titles with very long filenames as it happens with classical music.
Now I am facing the situation that JRiver
  • refuses to import quite a lot of files (extra long pathname support is turned on)
  • trying to rename the filenames according to my template, I get strange listings as shown in the attached screenshot and the files whose paths start with \\?\ refuse to rename
I can't shorten the filenames, as windows refuses because they are too long.
Does anyone have an elegant way to fix something like this?
Thanks a lot

Try renaming the directories only.

Thanks. I had tried the (short) top level directories and that didn't do the trick. Now I replaced the (longer) bottom level album name directories by 1, 2, 3 etc. That did the trick.
I then restored the album name directories from the tags and now the filenames seem to be short enough.
Thanks
