Installer exits immediately after displaying EULA

Hi forum!

I have encountered a problem installing MC25.  Both the x64 and 32-bit installers close immediately after displaying the EULA screen.  Running Win10-64 1903.

I have previously successfully installed MC versions going back to maybe MC17 on this machine.  I did somehow lose my registration info for MC22, but I imagine that has nothing to do with this issue.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

The first thing that immediately comes to mind is antivirus/antimalware software causing it. Have you tried redownloading the installer?

Thank you for the reply.  I should have mentioned that I disabled Windows Defender, checked free disk space, and other basic checks.  I just re-downloaded and the same problem occurs.  I did have a VPN connection open to my work machine (nothing like working weekends!) and closed that, no difference. 

I've been running MC since it had a different name back in the early 2000s (can't remember what it was) and have never seen a setup issue.  Maybe a reboot is in order ...

A reboot didn't help either.  I will refresh my MC24 key for this machine.
