Is there a way to force what genre selections you want?
So my movie genres are going to be different than my music genres.
But of course the drop down will show both kinds together.
Guessing that is too much to ask.

If you edit a movie, you should only see the movie genres.  If you edit music, only the music genres.

I think what you mean is on the left pane under the movie or music drop down. Which I don't edit my files from there but good to see it knows how to separate them somehow.

if I go to list view - details and hit the drop down for genre I think I see all of them - both music and movies.
This is where it would be nice only to see the selections I want.
Not only for genre but for other fields I created.
But it is something I can deal with.

I can't reproduce this.  I only see the music genres when I tag a music file in the list by doing "Rename".

Would you be willing to send me a library backup with a little more detailed instructions to reproduce?  I'm matt at jriver.

So I just added one video/movie to a playlist.
And I noticed if I hit F2 I only see a couple choices.
But if I hit the arrow down I see everything.
Yea I have been adding / editing tags in Genre.

Those look like all movie genres in the list.  So that seems like it's working according to plan.

I see shock rock, sleaze glam and symphonic metal there.
I don't think I have any movies with that.
