Yamaha RX A1080 Zone Control
« on: October 23, 2019, 10:25:37 pm »

I'm running JRiver MC 25. I have a number of network devices connected, including a Yamaha RX A1080 AVR. The A1080 has a zone capability. I have configured 5.1 sound in my living room and a pair of speakers in my dining room as Zone 2. Yamaha also has a reasonable app for controlling the A1080 from my iPhone. The app treats the Yamaha Zones as separate renderers. I can separately control what is input to them, the volume, and whether they are active or not.

MC25 recognises the A1080 and can play to it, no problem, except that there is no way to control the Yamaha Zones separately. MC sees them as one renderer. Ideally I would like to see the two Yamaha Zones as MC zones. The Yamaha Zones are separate amps inside one box. Is there any configuration (DLNA server...) that would enable MC 25 to see the Yamaha Zones as separate MC Zones?
