TiVo and Media Center 25
« on: October 27, 2019, 10:52:24 am »

I have used MC24 since it was released to play TiVo videos pulled to my computer from my TiVo box with KMTTG.  It was worked flawlessly.  Now, I have pre-purchased MC26 (available 12/2019), so I decided to download and use MC25 until MC26 is available since the same license will work for both.  My problem is MC25 will not play the TiVo files and I had to reinstall MC24 in order to play the TiVo generated videos.  I don't remember having to do anything special to get MC24  to play TiVo files successfully, so I am stymied that MC25 will NOT play them.  Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a firewall issue.  What format are the files?

Try Red October HQ and Standard in MC video settings.

Thanks Jim, but the 64 bit vs 32 bit versions bit me again.  This same issue hit me when I upgraded from 23 to 24, but I had forgotten that I had to download and install the 32 bit version to watch TiVo files.  Same thing again now from 24 to 25.  i looked at my previous post and then remembered what I had to do.

I wish the 64 bit version would play the TiVo files, but I guess there are only a small number of us using MC for this and it doesn't warrant that development resources.  Thanks for your reply.

Actually, it might be one of those things that just requires the 32-bit version of Media Center. Drivers are the most common thing that comes to mind, being available for 32-bit but not 64-bit. If there's no 64-bit drivers available, then there's nothing JRiver can do about it. It's also possible KMTTG itself might be 32-bit only too or it's just something that can't be supported in the 64-bit version of Media Center.
