How to Split Long Files While Recording?
« on: May 05, 2003, 09:53:04 pm »

How can I record 4 hours of radio using Media Scheduler and the Record Sound feature but split the file into 4 tracks? I've asked several times during the beta process for the ability to playback long files, but the playback controls break after about 1hr47minutes, so I have to keep using WMP to play back MC files.
If I set Recorder Settings "Maximum Track Length" to 60 minutes, shouldn't that start a new track every hour? It doesn't do anything, so I'm stuck with long files that necessitate WMP. Enable automatic track splitting is unpredictable, splitting tracks every time there's a short gap in sound. How do I make this work?

What kind of results do you get if you set up (4) recording tasks with a duration of one hour apiece? You'll probably lose a few seconds in-between tracks though.

10-27

edit: If your turning these into mp3's, then you can use MP3Cut to losslessly chop them into 1 hour chunks.
