Cannot import .wav or flac files MC25 [Solved]

I have recently been unable to import either flac or wav files - never happened before..
I have made sure of file import type settings, disable antivirus, added MC25 to Windows Defender exclusions as well as excluded it in Kaspersky etc.
When I run an import it routinely fails now.  I can play a flac or wav file in MC25 and it does not routinely add it to my library even though this option is selected.
Any help would be appreciated.

Which version? I'm on 25.0.114 and my recent flac imports (latest 11/17) went fine. Don't do .wav

They appear to be and play without a problem if I open them with MC25.  I re-encoded the flac files with Free Audio Converter and again tried to import but this failed - message I get is 0 files imported...
I have been using MC for over 10 years and have never encountered this problem

I get that message quite often, but, the files have been imported.  So, check and see if they are in MC.

Can you upload one of the FLAC files that don't import as a sample?

Also, you might want to make sure the Ignore files previously removed from library in MC's Options > Library & Folders > ... Configure auto-import... is NOT checked.

Thanks for the suggestion - unchecked the option as you suggest but still failed to import the folder.
I have managed to find a solution.  I was importing a folder from my Newshosting folder (the program I use for Usenet) and it consistently failed.
I then created a new Temp folder in my C drive and copied the music files to the Temp folder and was able to import as usual!  Somehow MC25 would not import from the Newshosting folder or was not being allowed to do so...  I had successfully imported from the same folder about a week ago though.
No idea why this has happened but glad that i have found a way around it - hope it lasts...

Just remember now that your temp file is where MC expects to play these specific files from going forward. In other words your temp file isn't temporary any longer.

I always then copy to music to me separate music drive so this won't be a problem
