Hello,
I bought an id about four years ago and never used it because it was too complicated to figure out but am ready to tackle the set up again since I have a four day weekend. I currently have Soundspectrum visuals. Aeon,Gforce etc on my current set up on my computer and want to switch my player to the id but I watch the visuals along with my music.
Can I download soundspectrum into the id?

No.  Sorry.  You can't modify the Id.  You could update it.  Just turn it on and get it up and running, then update. 

Is it a NUC or a Pi?

Can you explain the difference. It cost almost $300 bucks

Found it on the bottom of the unit it is a NUC
Model number NUC5CPYH

Plug it in and run the update (#12 on the text menu).  It's probably old enough that you'll need to use a USB stick to upgrade.  That's mentioned here:
