There are a few important notes with this release.

1. This update is not available on devices running Android 6.0 or earlier. Hopefully the added features will be available to those versions at a later time.

2. Video is still not supported on some Android TV devices. This will be fixed in the next update.

3. To import video files, you will probably need to delete the current library because it's possible video files have already been imported as data files. The best way to do this is with the Android settings menu. Find the JRiver for Android listing. Usually, it's something like Settings -> Apps -> JRiver for Android. Then select delete data to delete the library.

4. On Android TV devices, there is a bug where video files will only showing up under the Disk category of the Videos section.

On my Note 10, the option to clear data was under:

Settings -> Apps -> JRiver for Android > Storage

It's back to crashing immediately on Android 10.

EDIT: This time it's different... It crashes, and if you wait 1 - 2 seconds, it reopens itself (the notification appears).  If you click on the notification, it crashes again, and the process restarts.

I just purchased/installed it on my NVIDIA Shield. It will still only work with media files stored on the Shield. I'm hoping it will eventually connect to my Media Center server and play media that's currently in that library and stored on my network server. For now, this app isn't able to do anything for me. I guess it's a donation to future development.

In another thread, I read this comment from Awesome Donkey, "JRiver for Android can now act as a client to a server and load a library from a server."

Can someone explain how to set this up?

It doesn't work yet, there's still issues (e.g. with authentication enabled, etc.).

I have a Master License. Do I still have to pay $16.99 for JRiver on Android? And do I pay for each device - I have two; a Nvidia Shield and a Chromebook.

JRiver for Android isn't included in the Master License.  It's $9.98 and you can use it on all your Android devices.

It may not currently work on a Chromebook.
