DSD playback
« on: December 11, 2019, 02:00:34 pm »

Hello guys,

DSD playback isn't working in MC 25.0.114. Any fix around the corner? Do I need to roll back to a previous build again?

Thanks

Can't confirm, DSD via DoP is working fine here. I'd check your Audio Device under MC's Options > Audio section and make sure it's the right output.

Hi AD,

as always, thanks for the quick reply. My DAC is capable of native DSD playback. I haven't made any changes in settings lately. Bitstreaming set to DSD. DSP studio - output encoding ‘none’. I've had the same problem couple of weeks back with MediaCenter-25.0.101-amd64.deb.

Oh, I forgot to mention it only seems to affect SACD .iso playback, sorry!

Just tested and that works fine.
Make sure you are using a hw: device.

You can run /usr/lib/jriver/Media\ Center\ 25/alsacap from the command line to see if your DAC is supported (DSD_U32_BE only).

Code: [Select]
Card 2, ID `Audio', name `iFi (by AMR) HD USB Audio'
  Device 0, ID `USB Audio', name `USB Audio', 1 subdevices (1 available)
    2 channels, sampling rates 44100, 48000, 88200, 96000, 176400, 192000, 352800, 384000 Hz
    Sample formats: S32_LE, SPECIAL, DSD_U32_BE
