Hello, sorry if I'm not in the right place, I'm new


I'm getting a bit frustrated with my new smsl dp3 DAC streamer, I cannot get it to hook up properly on my PC server where I have JRiver set up on Win 10

I've done quite a bit of search but cannot find anything useful, so I'm wondering if anyone here may have had better luck than me with this device SMSL Dp3, I can get "send to play" to sometimes work, but the display on the Dp3 doesn't work anymore


I tried wifi but it turns all my hi-rez files into standard CD sampling rate

Hi,

Yes I went to that page before, I did verify all my settings.
Basically this is what I experience, I can play DNLA by using send to, send to smsl dp3, however that seems to make the smsl screen go blank, no media info (like artist or title) no type of file info, no matter what I feed it: flac, mp3  the display always displays wav,  and I have zero remote option

There is a setting on the smsl, where you can put a login and password for the dnla server, the code I get from MC is unusable, I tried entering normal credential (like you do for a server) but that doesn't work...…  I guess if I figure what to put there, maybe I'll get cover art and info

I am able to get cover art and info using air play with iTunes, but all the files default at the standard sampling rate for CD, my hi rez audio files get downrezed

It's a shame because with the first option I get really great sounding music, I have an external dac that the smsl feeds into, and the sound is truly audiophile quality

Remote and being able to the use smsl properly will be a deciding factor if I buy

I tried Roon, I fiddled with it for about 6 hours and gave up on this program
I tried smsl support and they are useless

Perhaps someone could give me some info on what to enter on my smsl device to read the JRiver server...

I'm sorry we missed your second post.

If you're able to play to it with wifi (and probably UPnP/DLNA), you can set the output to original on the server.

I'm not sure what you're doing with the Sendto command.

The login on the device is for the server, but you don't need it to play to the device as a renderer.  Here's the DLNA topic on our wiki:
