Some movie rips don't show up in "Video"
« on: December 22, 2019, 01:22:17 pm »

I rip my discs through MyMovies.  Every now and then I get a rip that does not show up in the Video view ... as in the thumbnail does not show up.  The corresponding ISO is listed in the "Recently Imported" playlist and if I double-click the ISO, the movie plays.  It seems like somehow JRiver does not think that the file is a Video.  Is there anyway to manually change the meta-data somewhere to get MC to recognize this as a valid movie and for its thumbnail to show up in the Video section?  Thx.

Have a look at field "Media Type".  Is has probably been set to "Data", just change it to "Video"

That definitely is the issue ... I see the problem files listed as Data in the Documents section.  Not sure how to change it though.

Edit the Media tag.

There is a couple of ways.  Simplest is:
- Highlight the ISO that is set to Data.
- In the Action Window (lower left) select the Tag option
- Under General there is "Media Type", the the Drop Down change it from Data to Video (you can also change the Media Sub Type to "Movie" if that is what you use).

I had to change the Media Sub Type as well ... it was blank.  The movies are now showing up.  Thanks!
