aac playback
« on: January 07, 2020, 04:23:38 pm »

MediaCenter does play back raw aac files but it's not really useful (unless there's a setting I've missed).  I can only play back from the beginning of an aac track.  One cannot see any time information or navigate within a track, e.g. back up to play a portion again, or skip ahead to a different part of the track.  I routinely use MC to record aac radio streams and that works fine, but I have to use a different player to play them back.  Has anyone figured a way to play back aac files satisfactorily in MC?  A plugin? Thanks

No container - just raw aac+ HE (high efficiency) as used by most (all?) internet radio stations streaming standard vanilla aac format. (MPEG2 Advanced Audio Coding).  Works fine in Winamp, VLC, Windows Media Player, my Integra DHC80.1 PrePro, most other players other than iTunes
