Multi-disc bluray sets
« on: January 11, 2020, 08:48:44 am »

For display purposes, how best to organize a multidisc blu-ray package?   I've been looking around and can't find a way to organize so that I don't have a cover art appear on the main screen for each disc in the set.

Can this be done?   I feel like I'm just not looking in the right places for the explanation for how to accomplish this.

Closest thing I can think of is stacking ... though I never quite understood grouping by box sets

Say you group all your star wars ... then someone try to find Empire Strikes Back, but will not find it under E as it is grouped under Star Wars in S

The Disc # tag might help.

Are they TV series? If so, use particles and tag the episodes individually and use the  support for series/season art. If not, what are they?

So far, I only have some concert videos ( 2 disks each set).   I am using the full backup for each disk (each backup in its own directory).

Stacking doesn't *seem* to do what I'd like - I'll probably take another look at it.  I added a disk number, but that didn't seem to help for my situation.

I need to learn a bit more about particles.  Are you saying that's what people use for their multi- disc sets, and that also helps to organize the UI?

Thanks

particles are used where a single disc contains many tracks that you want to address separately, for example a tv series boxset or a music bd that has a chapter for each individual song. https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,106802.0.html contains some tools to help with this

if you just want to show 2 discs as one entity which plays one after the other then I think you can use the link tracks option to do this. I guess a custom view (grouping by title?) would be required to make it look nice or you could perhaps abuse the series/season fields.

Thanks to everyone.

For now I think I'll just leave as is and keep testing options.  With how few of these multi-disk sets I have, it's not worth spending too much time on this.
