registering on computer with no internet
« on: January 13, 2020, 05:54:58 pm »

I want to purchase and register media center (MC) for Mac on a computer that is not on-line.  I have transferred MC to that computer through external drive.  My computer on-line is on it's last legs and I don't want to install it and then transferred the installed MC to the target computer.  Can I purchase, register, get a key and so forth sent to my old computer and, without opening MC and registering etc. on this one, get the information I need on-line, transfer it to the target off-line computer via flashdrive, and register it there without being on-line at the time?

If so, how is this done?

Yes.  Just use the Install Key.  Please read this:

Thanks for purchasing.

getting registered/started

I am running between this computer (on-line) and the computer I have MC downloaded on (not on-line).  I wrote earlier and got a response, but I am no longer able to find the response (perhaps by weeding through the layers of posts that I can read).

I did purchase the MAC version, got a registration code, read the instructions that were supposed to assist, but when I went downstairs to enter it the code by hand, no place appeared anywhere that would suggest how and where to enter the code.

What do I do now?  I need to enter the information and registration number that allows me to operate the Mac version that I purchased (hopefully I got that right).  Pointing to a page that seems to assume an internet connection is not helpful in my circumstances.

Installing or "restoring" a license is a little bit confusing.  Hopefully what I'm about to write will help you a little.

Request a "restore" from the restore page.  It will require you to enter your Registration Code (permanent license).

Once you've done that, you will get an email with the Install Key (MJR file) attached to it.  That can be used OFFLINE for your computer that does not have Internet.  Copy it to a flash drive and then direct MC to use the MJR file to register.

The Install Key is good for 14 days.  As long as you use it on your offline computer within 14 days, it will be registered forever.  The registration is permanent.

I hope that helps some.  Good luck.

Brian.

Brian,
I edited the above to use JRiver terminology.
