I have read the FAQ on how to revert back to version 8, but can I have both version 8 and 9  installed on my computer?

I bought the version 9 license that would allow use with version 8, and have been using version 8 with great satisfaction.  (have been a version 6 and 7 user as well).

I would like to begin to experiment with version 9 but am apprehensive about a new install.   I have a gazillion play lists arranged for my version 8 and don't want to take a chance on losing anything.

Sorry to say no they do not play nicely together. Don't know all the specifics other than the answer is no.
However, if you had a dual boot system with two separate installs of windows then you could do it by putting 8 on one and then install 9 on the other.
