Can't see Sonos in Playing Now on MC26
« on: February 14, 2020, 02:06:42 pm »

Hi all

I've used jRMC for as long as I can remember, but actually seem to have stagnated on MC21 for far too long, probably because I got on well with it. Anyway I've just installed 26 and for the life of me I can't find my Sonos speakers, in 21 they appeared in Now Playing

Can anyone help please?

Try turning on Media Network in MC Settings.

Hi Jim

Thanks for the reply

It's on, I'm pretty sure all the relevant DLNA settings are in place, still nothing

Port 1900 has to be open in your firewall.

It might take some time to show up.

Hi Jim

The Sonos speakers appeared this morning, thanks for your help

While you're there, you don't happen to know which sound format I should use to decode my (too) high res files to Sonos for highest resolution? I'm guessing L16 PCM but I don't know what a header is and whether or not I need one!

Kind regards

Russell

I don't.  PCM is likely to be supported.
