problem playing playlists
« on: April 30, 2003, 02:20:35 pm »

I am running win98se and have owned mj since mj7 without any problems. I upgraded to mj8 so I could use mj to load mp3 to my portable which all works fine. Then noticed that at some random point while playing from a playlist MJ would stop between tracks and an error box would appear with the following message:

There was an error starting playback.

Make sure that your system has a valid sound playback device and that it is properly configured in Media Jukebox's playback options.

(double check the output mode, output device, and output bitdepth)

This happens 3 times, after I cloke ok, I get another error box that says:

warning

media center encounters error while trying to play the last several files.

Please make sure that the path in the Media Jukebox library points to the right location.

======

any suggestions, I upgraded to 9.0161 and it still does it. Although some playlists work fine and play for hours.

I'm stumped,
J

Try reinstalling the sound card drivers.  Update them from the web site of the manufacturer if that doesn't work.
