Saving links as tracks?
« on: February 13, 2020, 03:20:52 pm »

I've been looking here on the forum and haven't come across anything, so I thought I'd ask.

Is there any way to save a link, say to a specific youtube video as a "track"

Ie so I can assign metadata, author, album, Genre, etc to it and listen to those "tracks" just like any other in JRiver, except it would stream when played instead of being played direct from a file? I know I can download the video, or otherwise convert it to a local file and catalog it as normal. Just wondering if I could just track the URLs instead.

I couldn't find any info on doing so, but I could be missing it.

Try saving it as a playlist.

Hi Jim

I'm guessing you mean a youtube playlist? I can't seem to find any way to add a url to a JRiver playlist.

I can get the URL for a specific video via youtube, but then I don't see anyway to get then onto a JRiver playlist.

Youtube playlist would work. I was just hoping I could manage links like that via JRiver. Not sure if that makes sense but that's what I was hoping to do.

No, a local playlist.

Start playback, go to Playing Now, right click on what you're playing, and choose Send to, then Playlist.
