Impossible to Copy Cover Art image in tags
« on: February 19, 2020, 01:40:06 pm »

Just found a new issue in MC26 latest release. It is very difficult to copy cover art using <Left-Click> Copy to Clipboard. It used to work fine but now it takes several (many tries) to accomplish this. It makes it very hard for me to generate Folder.jpg files in the respective folders by copying and pasting the cover art image.
many thanks,
Hans
EDIT: It seems to work if one track is selected (and there is a bit of a Beach Ball delay now). Previously, no track needed to be selected to copy the cover art image from the tag entry

Where is the cover art being displayed when you left-click on it? I tried doing this while viewing it in the tags and it seemed fine.

I have selected a single album. No tracks are selected and the album art is displayed in the tag field (because the art is embedded in all the tracks). When I left click on the album art and then click Copy to Clipboard (first file), nothing happens. When I then click Past from Clipboard (Image or URL), whatever was in the clipboard before gets pasted.
The reason I do this is to generate a Folder.jpg file in the respective album folder on the NAS. It's not a real issue since it works when I select a track and then copy to clipboard the same way (See attached screen shot).
many thanks,
Hans

I'm not sure why you are doing this operation if your goal is to generate a cover art JPEG that sits in the album folder.

To do that (generate a JPEG in the folder), you should do:

<click on album> <right click> Cover Art > Save cover art to location specified in options

That will put the art in the place that JRiver is configured to put it.  That might be in a central folder.  Or it might be in the folder with the music files.  You might go look at your setting for that:

Tools > Options > File Location > Cover art > Audio Mode   (Should be set to same folder as the file) (there are two options for this, one of which names the file to Folder.jpg)

Good luck

Brian.

Thank you Brian!
I should have known there is a better way of generating the Folder.jpg file.
Best wishes,
Hans
