Pono, JRiver or Other Support?
« on: November 21, 2019, 02:42:45 pm »

I am not computer literate and will be switching from an iMac to a MacPro... I have two Pono apps on the iMac. Should I uninstall either? Both? If I install them how will I play the HD music on my stereo? (I do it now through Pono but hope to connect it via DAC). How will I add new music to the Pono? Should I use just JRiver instead? What about a software such as Audirvana? This is way more confusing than I ever wanted but the sound is great so I'm persisting. Thanks in advance, A.

Just install JRiver Media Center 25 from the Download Page.  It should handle the Pono.

Should I install the Media Center 25 on the iMac before I copy everything over to the laptop? If I do, does everything run by/through JR River? I have bought flac files from various sources...all they all treated the same? Thanks again...

The wiki has a topic called Moving Files.  It might be helpful, but move your media first, then install MC.  See what happens.
