Play to an Android Phone
« on: February 27, 2020, 04:12:57 pm »

JRiver for Android (on the Play Store) is a port of JRiver Media Center, but with a much simplified interface.

Version 26.0.31 was just made available and it adds the DLNA Renderer functionality.

So, for example, you can now put your phone next to your receiver, plug it in with an 1/8" stereo cable and play to it from a computer running MC or any other DLNA capable software.

I'm using Panel on a Chromebook to connect to my Windows server, and I've chosen my phone as the output.  It's pretty neat!

Thanks, Brad.  And Bob.  And Matt.

The phone, when running JRiver for Android, is also a server.  You can connect to it and play on another machine or play on the phone.  Panel works, etc.

It's just another computer, running JRiver.
