I'm connected to Onkyo receiver but I can only get it to play one song and then it continues to next song but muted. Can't find a fix in forum.

Try all the volume modes. Clicking the Volume area of MC shows different System priorities. Also, make sure no other audio is making use of the System volume. Media Center can be the only thing using System volume. Either it blocks other sounds or other sounds block MC from using System volume.
