Port forwarding - changing default port 52199
« on: March 23, 2020, 11:07:20 am »

I live in France and have a Freebox Delta router/server. In the settings, port forwarding is only available for ports up to 16383. I cannot forward through port 52199. Can I change the port in Media Center from 52199 and what are the ramifications?

A little more research on FREE service. It seems I may not have a "Full Stack" IPv4 address which limits the ports I have for port forwarding. There is a way to request a static IP address from them which will give me a full stack with all ports. Easier may be to change the port for Media Center from 52199

Follow up -

I changed the port in Media Center settings and then forwarded that port on my router. Result was successful. I can now access my library from all devices via the Internet.

Thanks for the support Jim!
