What is the structure of the folders you are trying to import from? Is it the music organized in a folder structure like:
Music Folder\<Artist>\<Album>\<Track#>-<Title>

Music folder, Artist, trac. I'm currently using Audirvana Plus. I just wanted to see if there was any benefit in changing to JRiver. I don't know how to set JRiver up?

I haven't used Audirvana before but I am sure JRiver Media Center can outdo it many times over. I am pretty new to it, too, but playing around with it, reading up on the Wiki and, especially, the help I get here, has made it an extremely satisfying experience. There is practically nothing that MC cannot do. I highly recommend it.
cheers,
Hans

There are many ways to import in JRiver.

There's an auto-import, a manual import using the menus, and you can simply drag and drop folders into the application.

If you read this article, found by googling "JRiver import", it will teach you all about importing.

Thanks I'll give it a try. Just need to know how to set it up compared to how Audirvana  is set up. So I need a very beginners tutorial. My current setup is: Mac Book Pro, pulling files from external HD, ethernet cable going to router, router going to Micro Rendu into DAC. So need help setting up JRiver?

If that article is not beginner enough for you, you can look at these videos.

I'm not sure what you are asking for.  I have some guesses, but I'm not clear on what has happened.  Can you post a screen shot showing what is wrong?

Thanks,
Brian.

Is there a preferences area to setup? I'm testing against Audirvana. I'm on a Mac

Tools > Options.  There is a search window at the bottom.
