Audio import error #1920
« on: March 25, 2020, 04:58:59 pm »

Using JR MC 26. I am also using the latest dropbox desktop app 93.4.273. Windows 10.

On the MC 24 sub-forum Monday, I asked about JRemote. I posted in the wrong sub-forum.

I got JRemote. Very nice app, btw - really nice look.

So I removed some audio from my MC library, moved the same audio up to dropbox, and then added them back to JR MC 26. Mostly seems fine.

But there seems to be a couple troublesome files that give error #1920 when added from dropbox. This is strange bc all of the files were just in the library that was running on an external HD.

Here is my MC log

Here are a couple of screen-caps that show error #1920 being thrown.

Thanks for your help.

That error is:
The file cannot be accessed by the system.

So double-check that the files are really there and working in other applications.

Thanks Matt.

In my case, it was disc space. Basically - I stage recordings I'm ripping/scanning/etc in dbox, and I wanted to advance preview some of them using JRemote. I flagged everything, so dropbox wanted to download everything... - not good. You have to be selective in what dropbox keeps local. Dropbox won't stream either, which is why everything gets pulled locally.

I think generally, 1920 can be from:
- permissions
- disc space
- maybe due to filename being too long
