Is there any way to save it so the player comes up in the mini setting
or do I have to keep hitting CONTROL 2?

Try setting MC to Last Location.  I'm not sure it will work.

MC is MediaCenter.

If you select Tools -> Options -> Startup; drop down on "Startup Interface" and then "Location" there is an option for "Last Location".

It defaults to "Start".

Maybe keep Location set to Start and change Mode to Mini View?
