Auto import on client to trigger action on server
« on: May 10, 2020, 06:28:09 pm »

Hi,

noticed and used used the new option in v .73 - 3. NEW: Made the shortcut Alt+I run auto-import.  Thx for adding it

Hoping the auto import option could be expanded.  If the local machine (client) has a remote library (server) loaded could it trigger the auto import to run on the server?

Why?
  • Have MC (bebian) running on VM in a storage device (FreeNAS).  It doesn't detect file system changes (probably due to FreeNAS / VM / SMB share config).
  • Triggering the autoimport from any of the clients is easier than remoting to the VM and triggering it there

thanks,

Steve

You can trigger a Server auto import from ANY machine on the network, using a simple desktop shortcut:
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:52199/MCWS/v1/Control/MCC?Command=23020

(the xxx is the IP address of the Server)

Double click the shortcut, a browser window opens, credentials pop up, click Ok... Server auto import initiated.
