New laptop and now can't play flac
« on: May 12, 2020, 08:55:18 am »

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to post! I just got a new laptop and installed JRiver. However I can longer play any FLAC files I once previously could. Tried a few MP3's I have and they fine but most of my library is built from CD's using FLAC. Don't seen to recall having this issue previously. Lappy is just an updated version of the previous make.

What is the full version of MC that you're using?

26.0.73 is on the Download Page.

Just tried using windows media player and works fine on FLAC so it must be something to do with JRiver?

Did the path to your Flac files change, can MC find them?

No all my files are on an external drive. Any mp3's there will play and using windows media player pointed the same external drive that plays any FLAC I selected.

Hi Ken,

Nope that's all it reports. No tab to expand the detail or anything!

So if you navigate to a file in windows, right-click it, and open with media center does it play then?

Which output are you using on the laptop? HDMI? A headphone jack?
