Scroll Wheel adjustments
« on: June 03, 2020, 12:36:08 pm »

Hi!

Is it possible to adjust the speed at which the scroll wheel on my "mouse" moves the screen? As you can see in the video, a single scroll advances the composers past several screens, from Britten it skips the rest of Bs, all of Cs and into Ds. That's one tiny move. It's just the regular setting on my scroll wheel and JRiver seems to be insanely sensitive. Is there a way to change this without changing the settings on my computer? (Because obviously I'd need to change the speed of the scroll wheel every time I use the program.)

Here's the video, let me know if you have problems viewing it.

Thanks!

You can change scrolling behavior in /System Preferences/Accessibility/Pointer Control/Mouse Options

This is JRiver or on my computer? I know I can change it on the computer, but the current scrolling speed is correct for every application except JRiver.

Yeah, sorry, I meant the computer. I’ve lowered mine slightly so a bit better in MC and not bad elsewhere.

I'm unsure why the MC team has not addressed the scrolling situation.

People have been complaining about the weird herky jerky scrolling for at least 5 years now.  It's not that it's completely unusable, but it sure is awkward and strange.  It would be nice if it were smooth like it is with other Mac apps and like it is on the Windows version.

I'm used to it.  It's just part of MC now for me.  An ugly part.  Maybe a developer will read this and want to make MC look and feel better.  Maybe not.

Brian.

Indeed! To demonstrate the 'herky-jerky' here is a short video. The top frames are OK, the list frame is awful

I'm new to JRiver so I didn't realize it's been an ongoing issue. I find the scrolling wheel to be largely unusable unless I need to go from A to M to T to Z. Anything in between is not possible and you have to do manually.

Thanks guys!
