Hi,

I have just built a new PC - windows 10 with lots of memory.   I am new to win 10 so maybe this is a known issue but at least once an hour my playlist stops playing and then 10 seconds later restarts where it stopped...I thought it might be a win 10 security feature so I allowed MC26 through...but it still does it. Quite annoying.... I have attached the log file for anyone keen to help me out...

I have the same problem of stopping reading for ten seconds (before leaving again a few seconds from the end of a track). I already reported it 3 months ago I haven't had a single response from JRiver. It absolutely never happens, never, never again if I reinstall version 26.0.27. All versions released afterwards have the same problem. This does not seem to happen if you do not use the crossfade. Not being able to use the other versions and having absolutely need of the fade I remain with the version 26.0.27. This version is still downloadable on this site.

That's not a problem with MC.

If this is not an issue with MC why does this only happen after version 26.0.27. and only with active crossfades?
In parentheses it works perfectly with foobar2000

Antivirus and firewall software can treat one version of MC differently from another.  That's a common problem.

What are you running for antivirus?  Did you configure Windows Defender?

I have no antivirus other than that of Windows 10. Everything is configured automatically by Windows itself.
That said as soon as a new version of MC 64 comes out I install it to find that a few hours later, I still have stops of 10 seconds before the end of the track. I reinstall version 26.0.27 and there the problems disappear completely.

In some cases, Windows Defender (the antivirus built-in Windows 10) needs to be configured to work correctly with JRiver Media Center.

I had this too. Solved by selecting options-file types and then select automatic playback method for all file types. Some music files had been changed to other playback engines-not by me. Must reboot computer after. Good luck.
