Moving MC library to a new system
« on: June 12, 2020, 04:53:51 pm »

I'm building a new system and will be moving my MC setup (latest version) from Windows to Ubuntu. My music library will be in a different logical location but with the exact same folder structure. What do I have to do in order to restore my MC play stats and have everything point to the correct files?

Do a library restore.  You will have to use the Rename Move & Copy Files tool, to update the file locations and change the directory separator from \ to /
That would be best for a one-time move.

For recurring use of the same library across platforms, there is also the Portable Library tool, that you can read about here:

Thank you, I was hoping it'd be that straightforward!
