Hi there,

When I play music through my external headphone dac/AMP and while I'm using the ASIO driver for streaming, I see no ASIOhost process in the Windows taskmanager- details tab.

When I play music through that same ASIO driver on another audio player called foobar2000, the ASIOhost process is there.

Why does it not show up with JRiver, and it does show up with foobar?

Both are playing the files with no faults, so nothing is broken as far as sound goes.

But I'm still wondering why JRiver doesn't display the ASIOhost, and foobar does, since they're using the exact same ASIO driver.

Kind regards

That ASIOhost process is part of foobar's ASIO plugin. Not sure how theirs works, but they provide that application on their own, its not usually part of ASIO playback.

MC talks to the ASIO driver directly, there is no "ASIOhost" process involved.

I see, so that means that JRiver has more transparency
