UPGRADE: Prices and Help for MC27

RoderickGI:
If you are running MC26, and you should be running MC26.0.98 to apply the MC27 licence, then the File Association should be as per the first attached image.

You also need to check that the association is with the correct Package Installer. You can do that by double-clicking on the mjr file, and in the Windows UAC dialogue that displays, click "Show more details" and then check that the Package Installer referenced is in the MC26 directory.

Successful installation of the licence does not result in MC being opened. It results in an onscreen message as per the second attached image, and a web page being opened in your default browser as per the third attached image.

Because of your current File Association for the mjr file pointing to the MC26 executable, MC tried to open the file as if it was a media file. You have not installed your MC27 licence.

There is no indication inside MC that the new licence has been applied. The "Help > Registration Info" menu option will just show which version is installed, and who MC is registered to, not the licence version. It will work with MC27 if the above happened.

Thanks for clarifying.  License installed.

BigSpider:
Having bought a licence it would be nice to know when MC27 is actually going to be available, all of the mc27 links on this page take you to mc26 info.
EDIT - OK I've seen the mc27 topic now, it will be a long few months to wait, but having done 3 months of lockdown I think I can deal with it. ;D

BullishDad:
I'm currently using MC25 and want to upgrade to MC27.  Do I download the latest MC26 build as a trial, update my libraries from MC25, then purchase the MC27 upgrade?

If possible, I'd like to move everything from MC25 to MC26, then qualify for MC27 when it's ready.  Please confirm the sequence, or tell me the best way to accomplish this.  Thanks.

Yes, that's correct.
