Fail to import epub: file type shows as 'unassigned'
« on: July 24, 2020, 01:56:31 pm »

I am trying to import my collection of ebooks.
Works great for mobi and pdf files, but almost all epub files fail to import ('determined to be bad').

Using a view to show all 'bad' files ('Limit database to "bad"'), and displaying the file type in the panel, I see that for all bad epub files, the file type is displayed as 'unassigned'. I suspect that that's why the import doesn't complete.

I tried to change the file type: drag / drop onto the file extension 'epub' on different tab, which resulted in all 'bad' files showing the correct file type. Next I removed all 'bad' files from the library and re-imported them: import again fails and once more they appear with file type 'unassigned'.

Any suggestion how to fix this?

Update: MC25 imports the files perfectly fine. Can’t find any difference in the settings, nor should there be as the v25 library was migrated to v26 without any changes 🤔

Dunno what else to try.

Thanks heaps, Matt, for the super quick turn-around for the fix. v103 is installed, all epubs are imported!
