simple suggestion - remote library connection
« on: August 07, 2020, 10:48:34 am »

i've recently set up another HTPC running Media Center v26.

when I connect to a remote library from my main HTPC, I am given the options to use the key generated by MC or to enter the URL (http://[IP address:port]).  I have authentication enabled on the main HTPC library server.  if I connect via key, I am prompted to enter the UN/PW.  If I connect using URL, I am not prompted and given no obvious feedback that the connection failed.  In fact it "appears" to connect by virtual of showing the remote library, but it is "empty".

Why is the UN/PW prompt now *always* given if it's enabled regardless of how one connects?
