Gizmo question
« on: September 02, 2020, 03:51:56 am »

Hopefully this is the right place. I think Gizmo is great and love using it for audio.
I've just started to try it with video, tv programs, and can't work out what order it displays the episodes, they're certainly not in season/episode order not alphabetically by name.
Within MC the episodes show in s/e order is there any way that one can make Gizmo do that?

Views for JRemote, Gizmo, and Panel are defined in "Options > Media Network > Advanced > Customise views for JRemote, Gizmo & Panel".

My Views correctly sort Series, Seasons, and Episodes. I may have modified those Views so they do what I want. EDIT: Yes, I have modified them. See if you can work it out.

Read this audio example for more information: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,124042.msg859146.html#msg859146

Note: You need to use the special TVInfo functions for the sort to work correctly. Copy the functions from the Theatre View Shows View.

Thanks Roderick, I thought the facility must be in there but hadn't been able to find it.
At the moment I have my shows sorted by series/season/episode but what I'm seeing is all the episode ones together etc. I guess I need to fiddle around a bit.

Here is a hint. (The image.)

I thought there was a Wiki and better posts describing how to set up that View, but a quick search didn't find them.

Just note that you need the extra [Episode] field in the Detail configuration, and how I have used the "Expression to display" to put the Episode name in the View, while sorting on the Episode number.

Interestingly when I look at Gizmo on my phone the top menu shows Movies/Shows/Home Vids/Other/Disk/Recent folders. If I select Shows - which I was, naturally doing then all the episodes are grouped by the episode number, all ones together etc. However if I select Disk and navigate to the folder where my shows are there they are all in series/episode order. Curious. I will fiddle around though and see if I can change the Top Menu Shows.
