Raspberry PI 2
« on: October 06, 2020, 11:41:58 pm »

Is the Id software, including JRiver Media Center, Raspbian Linux, and Engen, on a 16GB microSD card compatible with PI 2?
Thanks

It all depends on the version of Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian) the Pi is running. If it's running the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS based on Buster, it should work. But Media Center 27 requires Buster or newer.

The Id version includes the OS.  It does run on the Pi2.

It will run on a Pi2 but because of the limited CPU power and memory you aren't going to have much flexibility for doing things like on the fly resampling to high bitrates and multichannel handling.

I finally got the Idpi sd card which is now running MC26 on my PI 2. All is working fine  :)
I need to know how to access the terminal if I want to change the wall paper and upgrade to MC27. On  that matter do I need to remove the old repository of MC26 and add the new repository of MC27?
Finally is there a way I could install a file manager on the GUI?
Thank you for your help.

You can't modify the Id.  If you use the update option, it will get the latest MC, and eventually it will be MC27.

Thank you for your reply. I selected option 12 (Check Updates) on the Id Main menu. The system ran some updates but not MC which is still showing Ver. 26 build 107.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
