JRiver MC 21 not compatible with Big Sur update ?
« on: November 21, 2020, 11:37:06 am »

Hi everyone,

just updated my mac to the latest OS version "Big Sur". Since that update, JRiver constantly crashes whenever I want to use it ? Am I the only one experiencing that problem ?

Well, it depends. Media Center 21's development cycle ended years ago, before Catalina or Big Sur was even released so it stands to reason that it may not be compatible, correct. Apple did make changes in macOS since Media Center 21 was released which very likely could break older Media Center versions on newer versions of macOS. Unfortunately macOS isn't as forgiving with backwards compatibility with older apps like Windows is.

I can say Media Center 27 does indeed work just fine in Big Sur.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.
