Hi... I know... JRiver 23... still...
I used this very old Dell machine with my Metric Halo ULN-2 DAC, wonderful. In between, an Audio GD Di-2 interface, to carry the signal from USB-2 to SPDif in.
Then I upgraded my computer for a very recent AMD mobo.
Well, the Audio-GD driver is quitting constantly while playing.
I switched to an ASIO4all driver. Same results. Music will play just fine and then, suddenly, sounds stop, JRiver freezes. I cannot even "End task" by the Task Manager.
I have to restart, not just the program, but the computer itself to have sound from my system.
The developer over there, at Audio GD, tells me that they do not have new drivers.
Any clue?

You might try MC26 or 27 for free just to see what happens. It's less than a new MB if it works and I think MC is improving with each rev, not just features and compatibility but also sound quality. You could also try disabling some MB features that audiophiles play with, but I can't advise on details. What are your MC Audio Device settings? You'll get more visibility to a post on the MC windows forum too.
