Request for future feature
« on: November 24, 2020, 07:40:48 am »

I primarily use Media Center as a library manager for a micro SD card I use in my high res DAP.  I know there are a million amazing features I'm not using and I'm not using this to anywhere near its fullest extent.  However.....

Until a few days ago, I had a Fiio X1 2nd gen.  I could create a playlist and export it as an m3u8 file and I was good to go.  However, that died and I upgraded (seemingly) to a Sony NW-A55L.  They're pickier about their playlist format.  They accept m3u, but if there's any characters (even a ./) before the name of the file, it won't read the songs in the playlist.  Is there any way you could institute a playlist export option for devices like this that doesn't have any extra characters preceding the song title, please?  It seems said option is available for the PC version and it would be incredibly handy for me (and probably lots of other people) to have this option.

Thank you!

As far as I know, you can export a playlist with any name you choose.

That's true, however the Sony Walkman won't read the playlists if the text inside has ./ before the name of the tune, which is how they're exported currently.  Again, in doing research, it seems the version of the app for PC has an option for exporting playlists that doesn't do this, so I am hopeful this will be an easy thing for them to implement in a future update.  Admittedly, it's a first world problem to have to manually edit the contents of a playlist, but I do miss the old "export a playlist and go" way the Fiio worked.

I see, sorry, I misunderstood. Thought you were referring to the file name. I agree that for your purpose it would be good to have the option and I support your request.
In the meantime, it is quite easy to remove the leading ../ ./ using a text editor. I know it's annoying but it is an interim solution.
Good luck!
