What am I doing wrong ? (YADB TRACK lookup)

Since I first found MJ, I liked the fact that I could fix MP3 Tags.  I feel that I have been asking for improvments  to YADB for a long time. Now I am Stuck. How do I set an option to return multiple hits.  (most other track look ups offer this) I just cannot find it.  It seems the track lookup is getting worse (for me).  I am sure that's because the data base is growing, and I am not using it with the right settings.   \


(This is for TRACK lookups.. not for Ripping CD's)

Hi KeystoneKop,

I'll take a look on monday. I haven't checked recently, but a couple of months ago we were not getting duplicate hits at all. Maybe the DB has grown big enough...

Interesting question... One thing I've noticed is the matching doesn't seem to be too comprehensive.  Here is one case that *just* happened:

The tag before look up:
Artist: Clash
Album:
Name: Rock the Casbah
Track: 4
Year: 1982

YADB ran, and changed to:
Artist: Clash
Album: Essential Clash
Name: Rock the Casbah
Track: 37
Year: 1980


Ok, so to me, the Album should've been Combat Rock.  Notice that YADB changed the track to the right one on the new album but the year is completely wrong.

Oh yeah, the artist should technically be "The Clash"

I have submited TRACK information to YADB then try to look it up, says not found.


John Gateley said he would look and see if duplicates may be causing this.  What information can we give you to see what's going on?

found the song this time.  I think you should recognize a no server condition and tell us in the program.  would save lots of frustration.  

I still don't understand the finger print stuff.. is there any documentaton on it. or is it TOP SECRET?  

Still great Software, and will be better yet when YADB grows.  (I just wish you could create a finger print from all the album data for tracks)

bizarre. I made a ton of cleanup changes friday and over the weekend, one of those could be responsible. If it comes back, let me know...
