Sonos stereo pair as renderer
« on: December 20, 2020, 02:34:40 pm »

I tried looking through the archives but can't find a solution: has anyone successfully set up a stereo pair of Sonos speakers and used them as a renderer for MC?

If I remember right, I wasn't successful doing that as the Sonos stereo pairing would break.
Workaround: I have another, single Sonos speaker that I play to, and which I group with my stereo pair in the Sonos app.
There are other issues though with Sonos playback, and I don't use MC with Sonos that much anymore.

Clever!

Sonos does not support the “default” PCM L16 No Header media transcoding format, so you need to push transcoded to something else..

Where would I make the change for transcoding? Would it impact all renderers or can I just change it for the Sonos renderers?
