Command Interfaces
« on: January 16, 2021, 10:02:59 am »

Mediacenter has extensive commands. However, these are inconsistent.

IR remote controls receive the best support. However, these devices are no longer built. There is less support for keyboard hotkeys. The configurations must be made manually in an XML file. And unlike the IR commands, it is not possible to assign multiple commands to one key.

Many commands can be called as MCC core commands. Hotkeys can be assigned directly to MCC commands in Resource.XML. In the IR configuration this is possible for some selected MCC commands. All other MCC commands must be given to MC27.EXE as command line parameters. With each new version, the configuration must be adapted to the new EXE.

Other commands cannot be reached at all via MCC commands. For this, a program call with the corresponding command line for MC27.EXE must be executed.

Some functions in TheaterView differ from the StandardView[/b].
The MCC command MCC_LIST_SEND_TO_PLAYING_NOW sends the selected element to PlayingNow in the StandardView. This command is not supported in TheaterView.

The command line "MC27.EXE / Append selected" has a similar function. In the StandardView, this command sends the selected element, e.g. a single track to PlayingNow. In the TheaterView, on the other hand, the command always sends the entire album to PlayingNow, even when a single title is selected.
