Media Server Question

I have a cable modem connection and a temporary intranet connection connect to my pc, i have on the intranet another computer from a friend of mine. my problem is that i want to share my library with that computer but when i start media server it starts with my normal internet ip address and i don't want that but my intranet ip, how can i changer that? thanks in advance

Your friend should connect to your "external" IP address.  That's probably the cable modem, but I've never used one.

The idea is that some device (your modem) acts as a router to forward packets to the right machine.

On my network, for example, I use a DSL router.  The setup allows me to forward packets on a specific port to another machine.

You might try the website for the modem.  They may have instructions.

Also, some ISP's won't allow inbound connections to servers.
